Dr. Ellen Glasser values our unique and family-oriented
way of life in Atlantic Beach. Just as she demonstrated
in her life of public service, Ellen will use her skills to
restore needed stability to our city government and to
protect our community values in the future.
Ellen earned undergraduate and masters'degrees from
Duke University_ She-then-hathallisttrrguished career
as a Special Agent in the FBI, earning the nickname
Agent Mom" and working in many duty stations. After
9/11, she was the inaugural coordinator of the North
Florida Joint Terrorism Task Force. Upon retiring from
the FBI, Ellen earned a doctorate in educational lead-
ership from the University of North Florida where she is
now a faculty member teaching courses in criminology
and criminal justice to hundreds of students each yea'.
Ellen has also been active in professional and civic
activities, including service on the Atlantic Beach
Community Development Board, the Atlantic Beach
Code Enforcement Board, Beaches Habitat for
Humanity, the Jacksonville Mayor's Commission on the
Status of Women, and the Society of Former Special
Agents of the FBI.

Ellen is a devoted wife, mother of six, and grandmother of three.
Her husband, CAPT Don Glasser, USNR (RET), is a former Navy
SEAL and, like Ellen, he is a rctired,FBI Special Agent. In the FBI,
he helped form the elite Hostage Rescue Team. Today he is a
small business owner. Ellen is an animal lover and her hobbies
include cycling and running on the beach.
