She is a first-time council member and the only woman chairing a standing committee. To address challenges for women in politics, she initiated within the Council an inter-faction group called"For Equal Opportunities." Ms. Iashchuk is also a professor and dean of the faculty of primary education and philology at the Khmelnytskyi Academy of Humanities and Pedagogy. Travel: Iowa Other Travel: Poland,other European countries Professional Background: Ms. Lukiantseva is the head of an NGO called Civic Initiatives,which works to increase the visibility of women leaders through public events and discussions, and provides trainings on topics such as women's participation in local politics,gender in politics and media, and local gender policy development. Civic Initiatives also facilitates collaboration between women in government and the local community, with an emphasis on the need for issue-based coalition building and regional cross-faction caucuses and civic groups to more effectively address gender budgeting and related policy issues. Ms. Slavova is also a coordinator for the Women's Democracy Network's(WDN)chapter in Ukraine's Southern region. She was responsible for organizing and managing the WDN Ukraine conference for the Dnipropetrovsk region, which involved over 60 women leaders from city councils,NGOs, and civil society. Ms. Slavova is particularly interested in establishing cooperation between local city councils. In 2015,Ms. Voitsekhovska became one of the Rada Equal Opportunities Caucus co-chairs and champions of gender mainstreaming in Ukraine's education and employment systems.
