Hi again. Here's an update to yesterday's message, which I hope fully answers the follow-up questions you
posed today, which were:
Which of the projects listed below were applied for this past fiscal year and received?
And what was applied for in this past fiscal year and not received? The ones you list as pending?
Obviously we won't be getting the Johnston Island grant as that idea/project fell through.
If not, please keep plugging away and we'll get what you need.
What's challenging about providing the info that will directly answer your questions is that grant funds are
rarely, if ever, received the same year of the applications. And, while you asked about the previous fiscal year, I
actually addressed the current fiscal year in my earlier response to you. So I'm providing a more detailed
breakdown of the timing of the last two years' awarded grants and attaching Langton's annual reports.
Official notification of grant award has been received for two applications submitted during FY19, which
ends Sept. 30, 2019, for the following projects:
Coastal Resiliency Plan - $40,000 (DEP Resiliency Planning)
Aquatic Gardens Flood Mitigation, Phase 1 - $241,444 (HMGP Irma); So long as Phase 1 is completed
successfully, the Phase 2 award of $1,243,175 will be received, but amount may be amended either up or down
based upon final cost estimates determined during Phase 1. This Phase 1 grant has been made official since the
submission of our annual report on August 14.
TOTAL: $281,444 (theoretically, $1,524,619)
Unofficial notification of grant award has been received for 2 additional HMGP Irma applications since
August 14 report submission and are awaiting contract receipt:
Camelia Street Lift Station Generator - $43,897
City Hall & Public Works Building Generators - $157,313
TOTAL: $201,210
Additionally, the following projects were implemented in FY2019 with grant funding applied for during
FYs 17 & 18:
10th Street Dune Walkover - $30,000 (CPI, 2018)
Septic to Sewer Conversion - $132,323 (SJRWMD Cost Share, 2018)
Parks Master Plan - Technical Assistance (National Parks Service, 2018)
PD Storm Shutters & FD Bay Doors Upgrade - $16,745 (HMGP Matthew, 2017)
TOTAL: $179,068 cash
1
There is also a total of $111,512 in CDBG funds awarded by COJ for FY17 & 18 applications that were
unused (fmal project expenses were under $200,000 annual allocation) that we're trying to claim for Donner
Road.
I think that other than FIND (Johnston Island), the remaining pending applications submitted this fiscal year
are:
West Plaza/Gladiola Flood Mitigation - $50,310
CDBG for Donner Road - $200,000
NEA for Flyover Mural - $50,000 (submitted since Langton recently published its annual report)
The following applications are currently being developed (though factors *may* arise that prevent final
submission):
Local Foods, Local Places for Mayport Redevelopment Area Food Desert - Technical Assistance, due
September 30
HMGP Michael Cycle for Cutlass Drive Flood Mitigation - No specified deadline but should be ready for
submission by month's end
HMGP Michael Cycle for Mary Street Flood Mitigation - No specified deadline but should be ready for
submission by month's end
Coastal Partnerships Initiative for Coastal Resiliency Project - due October 1
Gulf States Regional law Enforcement Technology Grant for Purchase of LPR Equipment - due October 4
Coastal Resiliency Planning for Resiliency Plan, Phase 2 - due October 7
Additional HMGP Michael Cycle projects being considered, including Stanley Road Property
Acquisition/Demolition, Generator Purchases, and resubmission of previously submitted Tier 3 applications -
No specified deadline, yet.
