My current role as an active-duty naval officer and as a patrol
and reconnaissance pilot and mission commander gives me a
wealth of experience managing people, maintaining unit
cohesion, and resolving rapidly developing situations.
Additionally, I have previously served as a member of an
Aviation Mishap Board, and served as the chair of both an
Aviation Safety Council as well as an Ordnance Qualification
Board for a major Naval installation. While these positions may
not relate directly to the civil government board or committees I

am applying for, I am confident that the cooperation,
leadership, initiative, and experience gained from my positions
in the Naval service can readily translate into usefulness for the
COAB.

interest and your reasons
for wishing to be
appointed to this
board/committee.
While my family and I have only moved to Atlantic Beach
relatively recently, we have quickly fallen in love with our
gorgeous little community. I hope to now take a more active
role in guiding and protecting the COAB in some small way so
that it may remain as beautiful and vibrant in the future for the
sake of our son, and all of the children in the community, who
hope to call it home for many years to come! As I prepare to
retire from the Navy and transition to civilian life, I finally feel as
though I may be able to take this small initial step in community
governance rather than being among the many who just sit
passively by and hope that sound minds are making the best
decisions for the betterment of our city. I have lived a life of
service for 20 years on behalf of our great nation; I now hope to
put some of that experience to use for my local community. I
look forward to becoming part of the COAB team and serving
at the pleasure of all of the people of Atlantic Beach! Thank you
for your consideration.
