Thank You to Mayor Shaughnessy Alice Gartland thanked Mayor Suzanne Shaughnessy for all she has done for the Cultural Arts Board. The Board members presented the following letter to the Mayor: "Dear Mayor Shaughnessy: Please accept our heartfelt thanks for the support, encouragement and time you gave to us as members of the Cultural Arts Board of the City of Atlantic Beach. You attended our monthly meetings, made suggestions, appointed outstanding individuals to the Board when we had vacancies and encouraged new ideas presented by Board members. This gave us as citizens a feeling of community and belonging. Your interest and participation in the activities of the Cultural Arts Board will be missed. We hope you will continue to be interested in the activities of our Board and when you have time, will attend our meetings. Without your support, First Night could not be the success it is. Our artwork would not be hanging in public places, kids' art classes would not have prospered and the concert in the park would not be an annual event." • Mayor Suzanne Shaughnessy thanked the Board members for the card and for all their hard work. She also stated that it has been a wonderful experience for her. Alice Gartland presented a gift to the Mayor with the following card: "Because of your support of the arts in Atlantic Beach, a child learned to make this piece of pottery in one of the classes you made possible in our community. We hope you will enjoy it and that it will be one small reminder of your many accomplishments. Sincerely, Atlantic Beach Cultural Arts Board" 10.
