Nancy D. reported that the Mayor, City Commission, City Attorney and
City Manager attended the Cultural Arts Board meeting to discuss
incorporating First Night and she encouraged the Committee members
to attend the Cultural Arts Board meeting of Wednesday, October 21
at 7:OOPM, where they will discuss incorporating First Night.
Cindy thanked Nancy B. and Mary for working so hard at getting the
thank you letters out and the folders.
The Treasurer reported that there are n the budget and that
$1200 was received in corporate donations and $25 in private donations.
The only expense was to Executive Service to redo the name list.
Cindy mentioned that the meeting had taken a negative mood; therefore,
in an attempt not to be too serious she purchased non-alcoholic wine
and cookies. Nancy D. thanked Cindy for her hard work and taking on
the Chairperson duties.
Nancy reported that the Corporate Sponsor Folders would have one letter
and three page sponsorship opportunities, along with a two page fact
sheet. The Committee received a rejection letter from neighbor grant
(Cindy will provide Nancy D. with a copy) and Cindy recommend
approaching businesses of people you know. There has been no
response from AT&T, but expects to receive $1000 from TPC. There will
be no tax write off because the Committee is not non-profit. Rosemary
recommends approaching Chuck Barnes. There probably will be an
advertising expense for companies and more money equals more
advertising. Contact Cindy or Mary Jenkins for Sponsorship Folder.
Pam reported that to start publicity, she need to know who the
performers are, how many buttons and programs to print. Rob motioned
to have Pam proceed with the brochure. Woody seconded and the motion
carried. It was recommended that business card ad stop at twenty and
to print 3,000 programs and buttons. The cost would be $5 in advance

A regular meeting of the First Night Committee was Wednesday,

• and $7 at the door. A phone number for First Night will go in the
Tideviews and the phone line needs to be monitored. Willman and Co. is
reserving the right to say no about printing until they see what needs to
be done. Pam in attending a Woman's business Owners meeting and will
pitch sponsorship.
Woody reported that the program is ninety-nine percent nailed down and
she played music for the Committee to sample. She also reported that
they are working on a ceremonial opening at 6:45 and programming
came in $2500 under budget.
Nancy reported that Pete Dowling would be in charge of the Adele Grage
Community Center, Debbie Monty and Elouise would be in charge of
activities at the School, Dezmond agreed to sit in at City Hall and she
has no one at the Church.
The Marketing Committee Chair reported that they are under budget in
purchasing the 2700 buttons.
Nancy motioned to purchase and sell one hundred lights at $6.50 each.
Chinta seconded and motion carried.
iRob reported that within the next ten days he will contact groups for
shuttles and if anyone need table and chairs they need to provide him
with a number. He also will contact Glen Kirkland concerning the hay -
ride.
Nancy reported that the committee person for vendors is Kim Flower.
She was the Pastry Chef at Amelia Island.
Cindy reported that the Committee has lost its' Decorations Committee
Chairs Cindy and Clyde. Cindy is searching for someone to do
volunteers; therefore, if anyone know of any volunteers, pass the name
on to her.
Nancy reported that she spoke with Alice concerning the art Gallery, but
did not proceed. She will give an update at the next meeting.
