| have a bachelors degree in biology and a masters degree in
environmental science and policy, and am currently employed
as an environmental consultant working at the intersection of
science and negu|ation, particularly as it relates to land use and
development. Previously, | spent 9� years as a research
scientist working for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation
Commission Fish and Wildlife Research Institute and as a
fisheries science outreach consultant at the GuIf of Maine

environmental policy and regulation, as weli as an in-depth
knowledge of Fioridas wildlife, flona, and natural communities, |
also have extensive experience with geographic information
oysteme, data collection and statistical ena|ynia, and scientific
writing. Lastly, | work closely with Florida's land development
industry and have a deep understanding of land deveiopment
practices, policies, and trends.
1 grew up in Atlantic Beach and, despite my wanderings
elsewhere to pursue educational and employment
opportunities, | have always called Atlantic Beach home. | am
passionate about this community and firmly beiieve that the
concerted effort made to protect and preserve the citys natural
resources has made Atlantic Beach a gem among Fioridas
coastal communities. My application here is motivated by my
desire to continue to see Atiantic Beach grow as a community
committed to the environment and to maintain it as a city
intertwined with abundant and flourishing natural spaces. |
believe my skiils, experience, and knowiedge would truly
benefit the committee and the iong-term goals of the city.
