The contractor installed only one strap securing the jack and jing studs on ether end of
the header, while the plans and specifications called for two straps on eachend of the
header to be installed on each side of the header. Due to the actual uplift conditions of
the header a single strap installed on each end of the header provides more than
adequate load path capability for the wind load conditions of the subject residence. As
such the installation of a single strap on each end of the header providing a load path
from the king and jack studs to the header is sufficient and is certified as being in
compliance with the FLORIDA BUILDING CODE 7TH EDITION (2020).
