A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC WORK DEPARTMENT TO PURCHASE A
2022 INTERNATIONAL CV515 SFA DUMP BOX TRUCK.
WHEREAS, the Public Works Dept. is intending to purchase a new 2022 International
CV515 SFA Dump Box Truck under the Florida Sheriff's Association Contract#BID FS20—VEH
18 in the amount of$71,041.00; and
WHEREAS, this truck will replace P37, a 2003 Ford F450 Pickup Truck with 5th wheel
hitch that currently has over 100,000 miles; and
WHEREAS, this truck will benefit the Public Works Dept. in that it will become the
primary heavy equipment vehicle. It will enable staff to transport larger amounts of asphalt, lime
rock, dirt and various other materials to work sites throughout the City,with less spillage and trips
than currently occurs when using a backhoe or other type of small or heavy equipment. It can also
haul a trailer to carry such small or heavy equipment to the job site with the road materials at the
same time; and
WHEREAS,upon Commission approval,a budget transfer will be created to move various
funding within the FY20-21 budget for the Streets Division and the truck will be fully funded from
the Streets Motor Vehicle account#001-5002-541-64-01.
NOW THEREFORE,be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach
as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby authorizes the Public Works Dept. to enter a
requisition for a 2022 International CV515 SFA Dump Box Truck; and
SECTION 2. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to approve a
purchase order to Maudlin International Trucks, Inc. in the amount of$71,041.00 for truck.
