Dear Mr. Boyles,
Please accept this letter as the Engineers’ repairs for an existing concrete window lintel at the
above project address. This concrete lintel located on the west side of the existing two-story structure
was experiencing spalling concrete at the bottom of the member. Upon removal of the spalled concrete
there was no grout discovered within the continuous cell of the lintel. Additionally, both sides of the
window opening were missing vertical reinforcement and grout. Please refer to the image below on
page 2 with instructions on how to repair and reinforce the existing concrete lintel and vertical CMU
members on either side of the window opening in conjunction with the originally provided Behrens
Engineering, LLC. structural plans:
