Dear Mr. and Mrs. Mullen:
The Building Department has questioned the remodel of your property at 1160 Beach Avenue,
specifically with regard to the number of dwelling units the completed project is permitted to
contain. The Building Department has advised that the project appears to be planned with a full
second dwelling unit upstairs. I have informed the Building Department that all representations
related to your variance request indicated that this is a single-family residence, and that the
relocated stairs, for which you received a Variance, were to access upstairs laundry areas and
family areas and not to provide an access for a separate dwelling unit.
