Correction Comments
1. Side Setbacks: After reviewing the survey, the proposed covered deck extension on the north side of
the main house is within the required minimum side yard setback. As proposed, the deck is on or very
near the property line and the roof hangs over the neighboring property. While the existing structure is
nonconforming and can be maintained, Section 24-85(c) prohibits any expansion that makes a
structure more nonconforming. Please revise the plans so that no portion of the addition is within 3
feet of the side property line.
2. Fence: Please provide fence heights for all new fencing.
3. Height: Please provide the height of the garage as measured from grade to the peak of the roof for the
detached structure.
4. Tree Removal: Please submit a Tree Removal Permit Application if any trees are to be removed. If no
trees are to be removed, then please fill out an Affidavit of No Tree Removal. Both forms are available
on the city website under “Planning and Zoning” and at City Hall. Also please be aware that codes
have recently changed. If you are unsure about how the new codes effect your project, please submit a
Tree Removal Permit and staff can then determine if it is necessary.
