Dear Mr. Fairbairn:
The property you have inquired about at 28 Jackson Road is zoned Commercial General (CG).
The business activity you have described in your attached letter and by phone is not specifically
mentioned within our Land Development Regulations; however, based upon the information you
have provided, the use seems consistent with and similar to other uses permitted within the CG
zoning district. The typical uses in the CG districts include the following:
…typical Uses permitted in the CG Zoning Districts shall not include manufacturing,
warehousing , storage or high intensity commercial activities of a regional nature, or Uses
that have the potential for negative impact to surrounding properties due to excessive
noise, light or extremely late hours of operation.
Based upon what you have described, the acti vity does not exceed this provision in intensity, and
there is no excessive noise, light or extremely late hours of operation associated with the
business. Please be mindful, however, that if the business were to have impacts that adversely
impact neighbo ring residents or businesses, it could be determined that the use is not permitted
within the CG district, and your Business License would become invalid. (You will be required
