Dear Ms. Jackson:
The purpose of this letter is to advise that you must obtain and maintain proper licenses from the
City of Atlantic Beach and the Florida Department of Children and Families in order to provide
child care in your home. I am aware of the Use-by-Exception that approved on March 14, 1994,
which authorized the continuation of this use at your residence. That approval, however, does
not exempt you from any licensing requirements to operate a business within the City of Atlantic
Beach or from licensing requirements, which establish state law and standards for child care, or
from any other regulations that apply to your business.
You must proceed to immediately obtain the proper licenses, and your child care services must
remain in compliance with those licenses, once issued. I have also enclosed a copy of the City of
Atlantic Beach zoning regulations, which are applicable to your business. Failure to comply
with the City’s requirements as describe herein will result in Code Enforcement action. You
