2345 Seminole Reach Court (Forsyth pool) 1I am not that knowledgeable of all of the intricacies of FDEP regulations and rules particularly with respect to coastal management and permitting, but I have heard and read the frustrations of property owners for a dozen years when dealing with the State and Federal permitting authorities. I’m not so sure that they are arbitrary, but the regulations are so complicated and technical, it can seem that way, especially when its your property. The City deals with it too. We have to get the same permits from FDOT, FDEP, the Water Management District and the Corps of Engineers as does a private citizen. And not to be discouraging, but it my experience, the State agencies almost always prevail. Just FYI - I am not concerned about the CIty of Atlantic Beach in any way. But, this situation with Valerie and the DEP has been about the most frustrating situation/agency I have ever dealt with. That is saying a lot as I deal with the Social Security Administration every day in my law practice. I am convinced that Valerie is arbitrarily denying permits and wielding her power to do so selectively. I am hopeful Ander Crenshaw's office will remind her that she must be responsive in a forthright way to a taxpayer who pays her salary. I was advised to try and get Congressional influence from the beginning but I chose to do this by the book. Allison ________________________________ Get fantasy football with free live scoring.
