Re: Landscape plan for Breezes Car Wash at 835 Atlantic Boulevard
Dear Mr. Plumb:
I have reviewed the conceptual landscape plan submitted for Breezes Car Wash. As we have previously
discussed, I recognize that this is a previously developed site and that existing perimeter landscape
materials will be maintained. The preliminary plan you have submitted generally complies with the
landscape requirements, although the following additional details need be shown on the plan.
1. Irrigation systems need to be shown on the plan.
2. Clear sight distance must be maintained at each entrance. (It appears that the location of the relocat ed
palms could interfere with sight distance at the Atlantic Boulevard access points.)
3. A five (5) foot by seventeen (17) foot terminal island must be provided at the end of each row of parking,
and each island must contain one tree. The terminal islands must be protected by a continuous six-inch
curb. In that all palms are used along the Atlantic Boulevard frontage, hardwood (shade) trees as required
attached by Section 23-17 of the City Code, should be installed within the two required terminal islands.
Please indicate species and size of these trees on the landscape plan.
4. Provide trunk height of the relocated palms to be used along the Atlantic Boulevard frontage. These must
have a minimum of eight (8) feet of clear trunk height.
5. Include a tabulation by species of the number and size of trees and other landscape materials.
Please bear in mind that the landscape plan must be approved and all required landscaping installed prior to
issuance of a final Certificate of Occupancy. Feel free to call me at 247-5817 with any questions.
Sincerely,
