Re: Proposed Mayport Landing PUD within the City of J acksonville
Dear Ms. Granlund:
The City of Atlantic Beach has been advised of the proposed Mayport Landing PUD, located at
2200 Mayport Road, which if approved, will replace the Buccaneer Mobile Home Park. While
this site is located within the City of Jacksonville, it is adjacent to the City of Atlantic Beach.
The east side of Mayport Road at this location is the City of Atlantic Beach, and the project
would be served by our water and sewer systems. The City of Atlantic Beach takes no position
on the p roposed development, however, as the project would be served by our utilities and,
most importantly, since Puckett Creek, which traverses this site, is an integral part of the
City’s drainage system, the City wishes to conduct a stormwater and drainage rev iew at the
appropriate time, so that we may evaluate potential impacts upon the City’s drainage system.
The City of Atlantic Beach will coordinate with the City of Jacksonville, as prescribed within
the Intergovernmental Coordination Elements of both juri sdictions’ Comprehensive Plans, to
request an opportunity for review at such time the project is in permitting with the City of
Jacksonville. Please feel free to contact me at 247 -5808 with any questions.
Sincerely,
Jim Hanson,
City Manager
