A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH,FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO PURCHASE FLEET
VEHICLES DURING THE 2021-2022 FISCAL YEAR.
WHEREAS, each year the Atlantic Beach Police Department evaluates the vehicles in
its fleet to ensure that they are safe and effective to be used for public safety activities during
routine service and in response to emergency situations; and
WHEREAS, additional police officer positions added to the Police Department require
vehicles to perform their police functions; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department can purchase and outfit vehicles from one or more
State of Florida purchasing contracts or secure favorable pricing and terms of contract from other
vendors; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department has determined that six vehicles, five patrol vehicles
and one administrative vehicle, should be purchased during the 2021-22 Fiscal Year; and
WHEREAS, a police patrol vehicle can be purchased and outfitted for approximately
57,000 and an administrative vehicle for$27,000; and
WHEREAS, the funds necessary to complete these purchases are available in the 2021-
22 Police Department Budget; and
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic
Beach as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to engage in
the necessary contracts to effect the purchase of six Police Department vehicles.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and
adoption.
