Dear Mr. Hills:
The City has received your application for a Use -by-Exception requesting approval to
continue your automotive repair business. While your application is not complete, I
must return the application because Use -by-Exceptions are not permitted in the Special
Purpose Zoning District, which is the zoning designation of the Dagley salvage yard
property.
Your only option, if you wish to ask for approval to co ntinue your business, is to go
before the City Commission and request that your automotive repair business be
approved as one of the activities permitted at the salvage yard business. I have returned
your check, and in order for me to schedule you for a C ity Commission meeting, I need
a letter from you requesting to go before the City Commission to approve your
automotive repair business as “substantially similar and permitted accessory use” to the
existing salvage yard. Once I have received this letter, I can schedule your request for a
meeting of the City Commission.
