A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH,FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO PURCHASE RADIOS
DURING THE 2021-2022 FISCAL YEAR.
WHEREAS,each year the Atlantic Beach Police Department evaluates the radios used by
public safety personnel to ensure that they are safe and effective for public safety communication
during routine service and in response to emergency situations; and
WHEREAS,the Police Department can purchase radios compatible with the radio system
used by the Police Department at favorable terms from a sole source vendor; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department has determined that 11 Portable Radios should be
purchased during the 2021-22 Fiscal Year; and
WHEREAS, a Police Portable Radio can be purchased for approximately $4,500; and
WHEREAS,the funds necessary to complete these purchases are available in the 2021-22
Police Department Budget; and
NOW THEREFORE,be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach
as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to approve the
necessary purchasing processes for the Police Department to acquire 11 portable radios.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.
