A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA,
APPROVING THE TRAFFIC ENGINEERING, COMPLETE STREETS
PLANNING AND INITIAL DESIGN CONCEPTS FOR MAIN STREET
WHEREAS,the Atlantic Beach City Commission established procuring a traffic engineer,as
needed, in its list of 2021 priorities; and
WHEREAS, on October 15, 2021, staff received a Planning and Complete Streets proposal
from AE Engineering for Main Street, in the amount of$44,960, to provide professional engineering
services; and
WHEREAS,on October 16,2021,the City Manager discussed AE Engineering's Main Street
proposal at a Town Hall meeting; and
WHEREAS,this project is intended to engage stakeholders,identify potential complete streets
projects, and provide conceptual designs to use for funding and preconstruction design; and
WHEREAS, the tasks included in the proposal include study area analysis, public meetings
and preparation of documents; and
WHEREAS, the City has a Professional Engineering Services Agreement with AE
Engineering, and this scope of work would be Task Authorization No. 1 under said agreement; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission approved $50,000 traffic engineering in its 2021-22
budget.
NOW THEREFORE,be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach as
follows:
SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute Task
Authorization No. 1 with AE Engineering, in the amount of $44,960, for Traffic Engineering,
Complete Streets Planning and Initial Design Concepts for Main Street.
SECTION 2. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to approve a
Purchase Order to AE Engineering, in the amount of$44,960.00 for said Task Authorization No. 1.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.
