AN ORDINANCE CREATING AND PROVIDING FOR THE CONTINUED MAIN;
TWANCE OF SAFETY BATHINGAND RECREATION ZONES ALONG AND UPON OCEAN FRONT
IN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE TOWN OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF ATLANTIC
--BEACH, .FLORIDA:._ _
_ Section 1. That except as hereinafter provided, it shall be
v unlawful to operate any motor vehicleor bicycle, or to ride or drive
3 any horse, pony or other animal, along or upon that section of the
/-1 Atlantic Ocean floor between the high and low water marks of the said
Ocean and within the corporate limits of the Town of Atlantic Beach,
Florida, and which is known and designated as "Ocean Front", from and
during the following hours; to -:pit, from nine o'clock A. M. to four
o'clock P. M. each several day of the week except Sundays and Holidays,

Section 2. The above section shall not be construed to apply
to any or either portion or area of the said "Obean Front" as now des-
cribed and limited; to..:nit,
(a) That certain area, bounded on the east by the low water
mark of the Atlantic Ocean; on the west by the high nater mark of the said
Ocean; on the south by the prolongation to the low water mark of the said
Ocean of that imaginary line representing the northerly side of that cer-
tain highway and thoroughfare in Duval County, Florida, known as Atlantic
Boulevard; and on the north by that imaginary line running in an easterly-.

westerly direction from the low to the high water marks of the said Ocean,
-and-,loca,ted exactly one hundred yards -north of the aforesaid prolongation
ti
of that imaginary line representing the northerly side of the said
Atlantic Bouleiard.

(b) That certain area bounded on the east by the low
water mark of the Atlantic Ocean; on the west by the high nater mark -
o£ the said Ocean; on the south by the prolongation to the low water
mark of the said Ocean of that imaginary line representing the southerly
side of that certain street in the corporate limits of the Town of
Atlantic Beach, Florida, known as "Seventh Street"; and on the north by
that certain woodsu - Cea uxe 'built -arid- extending in--an--eastorly;�westerly-
direction upon and across the said Ocean Front, and which is known and
ident if ied as the Atlantic Beach fishing pier.
(c) That entire portion or area of the said Ocean Front
extending and lying north of the prolongation;to the low water mark of
the Atlantic Ocean of that imaginary line representing the southerly side
of that certain street in the corporate limits of the Town of Atlantic
Beach, Florida, known as "Sixteenth Street".
Section 3. That the Mayor and Marshal of the said Town be and
they are here
the
authoriz®d and directed -to proce; in their discretion -
the immediate installation and erection along and upon the said Ocean -
Front of appropriate ropes or chains and inf ormative signs for use in
indicating and showing to the public at large the exact portions and
areas o the said Ocean Front in which the operation of motor vehicles
or bicycles and the riding or driving of horses, ponies or other animals
is made unlawful under the terms and provisions of Section I of this
Ordinance as limited and qualified by Section II hereof.
Section 4. That any person, firm, or corporation, found
guilty of the violation of any provision of Section I of this Ordinance
as limited and qualified by Section II hereof, shall be subject to a
pecuniary fine not to exceed Twenty-five ( $25.00) .Dollars, or to _
imprisonment for a period of time not exceeding thirty (30) days, or
to both fine and imprisonment within the respective limits as herein
previously def ined.
