When changing contractors or subcontractors before the project is completed, certain procedures must be done before work can continue. There are three parties involved in this change: the property owner, the previous contractor(s) of record, and the new contractor(s). For a smooth transition, we ask each party to find their part of this email and respond as requested. To property owner: We have received notification that the contractor of record for the permit at RES18-0415 1977 BEACH AVE will no longer be working on the project. The permit is now on hold pending information from you, the previous contractor of record, and your new contractor(s): 1. Please confirm in writing to us (a reply to this email will suffice) the name(s) of the new contractor(s) that will be working on your project. 2. Please submit new permit applications reflecting the new contractor(s) information and notarized signatures, and a new recorded notice of commencement (if applicable). If you as the owner are planning to take over the permit as an owner/builder, you will need to submit an owner/builder affidavit. 3. To transfer the permit, we will need notice in writing from the previous contractor(s) of record stating they agree to release the permit. If they do not agree or are unable to be contacted, you will need to reapply for their a new permit. 4. All new permit fees and/or permit transfer fees must be paid prior to any work re-starting with new contractors. To previous contractor of record: We have received notification that your company is no longer the contractor of record for the permit at RES18-0415 1977 BEACH AVE and will no longer be working on the project. The permit is now on hold pending information from your company, the property owner, and the new contractor. 1. Please confirm in writing to us (a reply to this email will suffice) that your company will no longer be working on this project. 2. To transfer the permit, we will need notice in writing from your company stating you agree to release the permit. If you do not agree or you do not respond, the owner will need to reapply for their a new permit. The owner will need to provide us the new contractor names, new permit applications, and pay all permit/transfer fees prior to any work re-starting with new contractors. To new contractor of record: We have received notification that your company will be the new contractor of record for the permit at RES18-0415 1977 BEACH AVE The permit is now on hold pending information from your company, the property owner, and the previous contractor of record. 1. The owner will need to confirm in writing to us (an email will suffice) the name(s) of the new contractor(s) that will be working on this project. 2. Note to all parties: Terminating and transferring building permits has no effect on the financial or contractual responsibilities of any party, and the provisions of Chapter 713, Part 1, Construction Liens, Florida Statutes may apply.
