149 Oceanwalk Drive DRTV 13-00100065From:Hall, Erika To:"Steve Swaim" Cc:Carper, Rick Subject:149 Oceanwalk Dr S | tree removal for circular drive Date:Wednesday, July 10, 2013 10:12:00 AM Mr. Swaim, I have reviewed your tree survey in conjunction with your proposal to install a circular drive on your property at 149 Oceanwalk Drive South, and find the following: · According to survey, there are currently thirty-seven (37) trees on your property, with a cumulative diameter at breast height (dbh) of 461.00”. · According to your proposed circular driveway plan, a total of eight (8) trees, or 90.00” dbh would need to be removed; therefore, twenty-nine (29) trees, or 371.00” dbh would remain on-site. · Minimum tree standards for the City of Atlantic Beach require one (1) four-inch dbh tree per every 2,500 square feet of lot area. Your lot measures approximately 0.28 acres, or 12,196.8 square feet. Thus, a minimum of five (5) trees is required for your property to remain in compliance with City Code, and even with the removal of eight (8) trees, your property would far exceed that minimum requirement. · Below is a table showing my calculation of your required mitigation for the proposed tree removal, which is completely offset by on-site preservation of existing trees. Trees shown in red are to be removed; those shown in green are to be preserved. A total of 34.50” of mitigation would be assessed for the removal of the noted trees, and of the 371.00” of trees remaining on-site, 336.50” would constitute a “surplus”, above and beyond those required to meet the mitigation requirement.
