A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING
THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT TO PURCHASE TWO NEW TRUCKS DURING
FY 21-22; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CONTRACTS AND
PURCHASE ORDERS IN ACCORDANCE WITH AND AS NECESSARY TO
EFFECTUATE THE PROVISIONS OF THIS RESOLUTION; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the current year budget for Public Works contains funding for one new truck for the Parks
Division and one new truck for the Streets Division; and
WHEREAS, the price quoted from Alan Jay Fleet Sales under Sourcewell's Contract #2022 120716 -NAF
& 060920 -NAB for a new 2022 Ford F150 Pickup Truck is $28,307.00 each, for a total of $56,614.00; and
WHEREAS, the truck for the Parks Division will replace P-59, a 2010 Ford Ranger with 51,878 miles,
and the truck for the Streets Division will replace P-50, a 2008 Ford F250 with 100,594 miles; and
WHEREAS, since individually, each of these trucks are over the $25,000 City Manager approval level,
we are seeking Commission approval to streamline the purchasing process; and
WHEREAS, trucks are funded in both the Parks and Streets FY21-22 budget.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby authorizes Public Works to enter a requisition for two new
2022 Ford F150 Pickup Trucks as quoted by Alan Jay Fleet Sales; and
SECTION 2. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to approve a purchase order to
Alan Jay Fleet Sales in the amount of $56,614.00 for both trucks, and to otherwise execute contracts in accordance
with and as necessary to effectuate the provisions of this resolution.
SECTION 3. Funds are allocated in the FY 21-22 budget for this purpose.
SECTION 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.
