PAVING AND DRAINAGE NOTES:
1. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE. FOR LOCATING AND PROTECTING EXISTING
UTILITIES AND STRUCTURES UNTIL ALL CONSTRUCTION IS COMPLETE. THE
CONTRACTOR SHALL REPAIR OR PAY FOR ALL DAMAGES MADE TO EXISTING FACILITIES
AND STRUCTURES.
2. ALL UNDERGROUND UTILITIES MUST BE INSTALLED PRIOR TO PREPARATION OF
SUBGRADE.
3. ALL EXCAVATION SHALL BE DONE IN A MANNER TO MINIMIZE WATER TURBIDITY AND
POLLUTION. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PREVENTION,
CONTROL AND ABATEMENT OF EROSION AND WATER POLLUTION IN ACCORDANCE WITH
CHAPTER 17-3, FLORIDA ADMINISTRATIVE CODE.
4. ALL DRAINAGE STRUCTURES SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED TO CONFORM WITH TYPICAL
SECTIONS AND DETAILS SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS.
5. THE OWNER SHALL EMPLOY A TESTING LABORATORY TO TEST COMPACTION OF FILL,
BACKFILL, SUBGRADE AND BASE. PAYMENT FOR ALL TESTS WILL BE BY THE OWNER.
ONE TEST SHALL BE MADE IN ACCORDANCE WITH ASSHTO T-180 FOR EACH CLASS OF
MATERIAL. IN-PLACE DENSITY TESTS SHALL BE MADE AS THE WORK PROGRESSES.
APPROXIMATELY EVERY 300 C.Y. OF FILL AND BACKFILL SHALL BE TESTED.
APPROXIMATELY EVERY 500 S.Y. OF SUBGRADE AND BASE SHALL BE TESTED.
6. PAVEMENT SHALL BE SAW -CUT AND REPAIRED PER CITY OF JACKSONVILLE STANDARD
PAVING REPAIR DETAILS.
7. EXISTING CONCRETE DRIVEWAYS SHALL BE SAW -CUT AS REQUIRED DURING CONSTRUCTION
AND RECONSTRUCTED TO EXISTING CONDITION OR BETTER.

PAVEMENT MARKING
Mark the completed pavement as indicated on the drawings.
All workmanship, materials, and equipment shall be in
accordance with the applicable portions of the Florida
Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for
Road and Bridge Construction, dated 1986, and referred to
hereinafter as Standard Specifications which are applicable
are listed below.
White Paint: White traffic paint shall be Code T-1
conforming to Section 971-12.2 of the Standard Speci-
fications.
Yellow Paint: Yellow traffic paint shall. be Code T-2
conforming to Section 971-12.3 of the Standard Speci-
fications.
Glass Spheres: Glass spheres for reflective traffic paint,
shall conform to Section 971-14 of the Standard
Specifications.
All workmanship and equipment shall conform to Section 710
of the Standard specifications.
Unacceptable or mislocated markings shall be obliterated and
replaced correctly at the Contractor's expense.
