ORDINANCE NO. 5-76-5
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF ATLANTIC
BEACH, FLORIDA, DESIGNATING THE ATLANTIC BEACH
ADVISORY PLANNING BOARD AS THE LOCAL PLANNING
AGENCY IN COMPLIANCE WITH SECTION 4 , PARAGRAPH
8 OF CHAPTER 163. 3174 , FLORIDA STATUTES.
WHEREAS, The City Commission of Atlantic Beach, Florida, has
established the Atlantic Beach Advisory Planning Board
and appointed members to work with the City's various
administrative and departmental officials and staff
personnel in the development and formulation of com-
prehensive plans and studies for the City of Atlantic
Beach and to adopt such plans and studys and/or make
recommendations thereon to the City Commission; and
WHEREAS , it is the intent of the City Commission, through the
process of comprehensive planning, to preserve , pro-
mote , protect , and improve the public health, safety,
comfort , good order , appearance, convenience, law
enforcement and fire prevention, and general welfare;
to prevent the overcrowding of land and avoid undue
concentration of population; to facilitate the ade-
quate and efficient provision of transportation, water
sewerage , schools , parks , recreational facilities,
housing and other requirements and services ; and to
conserve , develop , utilize , and protect natural re-
sources within the City; and
WHEREAS , it is the intent of the City Commission to fully com-
ply with the provisions of the "Local Government Com-
prehensive Planning Act of 1975" , Chapter 163 . 3174 ,
Florida Statutes ;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA:
That the Atlantic Beach Advisory Planning Board is
hereby designated as the local planning agency for
purposes of comprehensive planning in compliance
with the requirements of Section 4 , Paragraph 8,
of Chapter 163 . 3174 , Florida Statutes.
