AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE
CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 2,
ADMINISTRATION, ARTICLE VII, FINANCE, DIVISION 2,
PURCHASING, AMENDING SECTION 2-331, BIDS - WHEN
REQUIRED, TO PROVIDE THAT FORMAL BIDS SHALL BE
REQUIRED FOR PURCHASES OF SUPPLIES OR SERVICES FROM
ENTERPRISE FUNDS IN EXCESS OF $5,000, AND PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic
Beach, Florida, as follows:
Section 1. Chapter 2, Article VII, Division 2, Section 2-331 is
hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 3-331. Bids - When Required
All supplies and contractual services, except for the Enterprise
Funds or as otherwise provided in this division, when the estimated cost
thereof shall exceed two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500.00) shall
be purchased by formal, written contract from the lowest responsible
bidder after due notice inviting proposals. For the Enterprise Funds,
all supplies and contractual services, when the estimated cost thereof
shall exceed five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) , shall be purchased by
formal, written contract from the lowest responsible bidder after due
notice inviting proposals.
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect upon its final
passage and adoption.
