A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA,
APPROVING LABOR AND MATERIALS COSTS TO RUN TWELVE
NEW WATER SERVICES ALONG CAVALLA ROAD, AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CONTRACTS AND PURCHASE
ORDERS IN ACCORDANCE WITH AND AS NECESSARY TO
EFFECTUATE THE PROVISIONS OF THIS RESOLUTION; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on February 17, 2022, staff received an estimate from Baldwin's Quality Plumbing
in the amount of $52,900.00 to provide labor and materials to run new water services, including meter
boxes with lids across Cavalla Road; and
WHEREAS, the current city water services are located too close to the front of the residential
units and are causing an issue to the homeowners and the city utilities crews when repairs need to be
made; and
WHEREAS, the city requested estimates from three approved contractors; and
WHEREAS, Baldwin's Quality Plumbing submitted the lowest estimate; and
WHEREAS, funds for this work are budgeted in the infrastructure account 400-5504-533-6300
under project number PU2101.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach as
follows:
SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to approve a purchase
order to Baldwin's Quality Plumbing in the amount of $52,900.00, and to otherwise execute contracts
in accordance with and as necessary to effectuate the provisions of this resolution and;
SECTION 2. Funds are allocated in the FY21-22 budget for this purpose under the infrastructure
Project PU2101.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.
