AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE TERRITORIAL
LIMITS OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH,
FLORIDA BY THE ANNEXATION OF THAT CER-
TAIN TRACT OF LAND LYING CONTIGUOUS
THERETO, DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS:
Part of Lot 16, Section 8, and part of Lot 6, Sec-
AND REDEFINING THE BOUNDARY LINES OF SAID
CITY SO AS TO INCLUDE THEREIN THE SAID TRACT
OF LAND.
WHEREAS, the City of Atlantic Beach, by Ordinance No. 12-
62-2, duly passed and approved as provided by law, declared
its intention to annex to said City a tract of land herein-
after described, at the expiration of 30 days from the
approval of said Ordinance, which said Ordinance has been
duly published as provided by Section. 171.04, Florida
Statutes; and
WHEREAS, no objection to the annexation of said tract has
been filed and no notice of any objection thereto has been

Duval County, Florida; thence run North 11056150 of
West along the W(3st right-of-way line of said
Selva Marina Drive 574.62 feet to another perman-
ent reference monument shown on said plat; thence
run South 78003110" West 322 feet, more or less,
to the West shore line of the draina-e canal or

lagoon as shown on said plat; thence run South-
westerly along the meanderings of the West shore
line of said drainage canal or lagoon 525 feet,
more or less, to the South line of said Section 8;
thence run North 89020'10" East 570 feet, more or
less, along the South lines of said Sections 8
and 9 to the point or place of beginning:

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE PROPLE OF THE CITY OF
ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION I. That the said tract of land described as:
Part of Lot 16, Section 8, and part of Lot 6, Sec-
tion 9, all in Township 2 South, Range 29 East,
Duval County, Florida, more particularly described
as follows:
Beginning at a permanent reference monument at the
point of intersection of the South line of said
Section 9 and the West right-of-way line of Selva
Marina Drive as shown on a plat of Selva Marina
Unit No. 5 according to plat recorded in Plat Book
30, page 29 and 29A, current public records of
Duval County, Florida; thence run North 11 56 50"
West along the West right-of-way line of said
Selva Marina Drive 574.62 feet to another perman-
ent reference monument shown on said plat; thence
run South 78003'10" Wast 322 feet, more or less,
to the West shore line of the drainage canal or
lagoon as shown on said plat; thence run South-
westerly along the meanderings of the West shore
line of said drainage canal or lagoon 525 feet,
more or less, to the South line of said Section 8;
thence run North 89020'10" East 570 feet, more or
less, along the South lines of said Sections 8
and 9 to the point or place of beginning, is hereby
annexed to the City of Atlantic Beach, and the boun-
dary lines of said City are hereby redefined so as
to include the said tract and declared to be as
follows:
Beginning at a point on the beach of the Atlantic
Ocean, as shown on a map of a part of a Subdivision
"A", Atlantic Beach, Plat Book 6, page 1, of Duval
County Records, where the north side of an unnamed
street north of Blocks 62, 63 and 64, as shown on
said map, and known as 16th Street would, if pro-
longed, intersect with low water mark of said
Atlantic Ocean; running thence westerly along
the north line of said 16th Street to the inter-
section of said line with the westerly right-of-
way line of Seminole Beach Road (County Road No.
608); running thence northerly along th-e westerly
right-of-way line of said Seminole Beach Road to
the north bounrlary line of SPrt.i_on 9. Township 2

Duval County, Florida, more particularly described

South, Range 29 East; running thence westerly
along the northerly boundary line of said Sec-
tion 9 and the northerly boundary lines of Sec-
tion 8 and Fractional Section 5 in said Town-
ship and Range, to the eastern right-of-way
line of Mayport Road (State Road AIA); running
thence southerly along the easterly right-of-
way line of said Mayport Road to the north
boundary line of Government lot 15 of Section
8; running thence easterly along the North
boundary line of said Government lot 15 to the
northwest corner of the east one half of said
Government lot 15; running thence south along
the west boundary line of the east one half
of said Government lot 15 to the north boundary
line of Section 17; running thence westerly
along the northerly boundary line of Section 17
and 18 in said Township and Range to the north-
easterly corner of unsurveyed Section 18, in
:.mid Township and Range; running thence south-
erly along the U. S. Government meander line of
the Pablo Creek salt marshes, being also the
easterly boundary line of said unsurveyed Sec-
tion 18 and the easterly boundary line of unsur-
veyed Section 19 in said Township and Range, to
the intersection of the last mentioned lines
with a line 16 feet northerly of, measured at
right angles from and parallel to the center
line of Atlantic Boulevard; running thence east-
erly along said parallel line and prolongation
of same to the point of intersection of said pro-
longation with the low water mark of said Atlantic
Ocean; and running thence northerly along said
low water mark of the Atlantic Ocean to the point
or place of beginning; EXCEPTING, from the terri-
tory hereinabove described that part thereof ly-
ing in said Sections 8 and 9 occupied and used by
Selva Marina Country Club as described in deed re-
corded in Volume 652, page 484, Official Records
of Duval County, other than so much of the said
land excepted, as is described as follows:

and 9 to the point or place of beginning, and
jurisdiction of the waters of the Atlantic Ocean
two miles from the low water mark between the north
and south lines of said City as above described,
projected easterly two miles; and police jurisdic-
tion for traffic control purposes over Atlantic
Boulevard from the Atlantic Ocean to the westerly
limits of said City as hereinbefore described,
over said Mayport Road from the City limits as
above described, northerly to the northerly
boundary line of said Fractional Section 5, and
over said Seminole Beach Road from the City
limits as above described, northerly to the
northerly boundary line of said Section 9; PRO-
VIDED, HOWEVER, that the Board of County Com-
missioners of Duval County, Florida, is hereby
authorized to construct and maintain, within
the territory hereinbefore described, any and
all streets, roads or highways that have, at
any time heretofore, been adopted as County
Roads by the Board of County Commissioners of
Duval County, Florida, as it may deem necessary
and proper for the benefit of the public.
SECTION II. This Ordinance shall become effective immediate-
ly upon its passage on second and final reading.
