A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA,
APPROVING LABOR AND MATERIALS COSTS TO DEMOLISH
GROUND STORAGE TANK AND PIPING AT WATER TREATMENT
PLANT #4, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
CONTRACTS AND PURCHASE ORDERS IN ACCORDANCE WITH AND
AS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE PROVISIONS OF THIS
RESOLUTION; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on April 20, 2022, staff received a bid from ERS Corp. in the amount of $79,000.00
to provide labor and materials to and equipment necessary to demolish and remove existing ground
storage tank and yard piping at Water Treatment Plant #4 at 2848 Mayport Road; and
WHEREAS, Water Treatment Plant #4 is over 50 years old. The supply wells that fill the tank
failed, and the tank was in need of extensive rehab work. The tank is no longer needed or useful for
our water system, so the decision to demo the tank was made; and
WHEREAS, the city held a bid opening on April 20, 2022; and
WHEREAS, ERS Corp was the only company to submit a bid; and
WHEREAS, funds for this work are budgeted in the infrastructure account 400-5502-533-6300
under project number PU2205.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach as
follows:
SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to approve a purchase
order to ERS Corp. in the amount of $79,000.00, and to otherwise execute contracts in accordance with
and as necessary to effectuate the provisions of this resolution and;
SECTION 2. Funds are allocated in the FY21-22 budget for this purpose under the infrastructure
Project PU2205.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.
