AN ORDINANCE AMENDING PART OF ARTICLE III, BUILDING
CODE, SECTION 6-8. ADOPTION OF THE SOUTHERN STANDARD
BUILDING CODE CURRENT EDITION.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA.
SECTION I. ADOPTION
1. There is hereby adopted, subject to the modifications,
changes and amendments set forth in this article, for
the purpose of establishing rules and regulations for
the construction, alteration, removal, demolition,
equipment, use and occupancy, location and maintenance
of buildings and structures, including permits and
penalties, that certain Building Code known as "The
Southern Standard Building Code", current edition, filed
and adopted by the Southern Building Code Congress
and the whole thereof, except such portions as are
deleted, modified or amended by this article, of which
not less than three copies have been and are now filed
in the office of the City Clerk, and the same is
hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out
at length herein, and the provisions thereof shall be
• controlling in the construction of all buildings and

SECTION II. This Ordinance shall have an effective date as of the
final passage thereof.
