On the survey it will be positioned in place of the Patio (which was demolished as part of DEMO Permit 022-0007). Below is summation of materials and process Deck and Framing Materials • Framing will consist of dimensional lumber Treated for Ground Contact • Decking will consist of Trex Composite Design • Permeable landscape fabric and gravel will be placed underneath the surface area of the deck to allow for proper drainage • two support beams will be positioned 8 feet off the north wall of the house and run parallel to the house and ledger board, spaced no more than 5 feet apart. o The beam will consist of a double 2 x 8 which will sandwich a 4x4 beam • The beams will be secured to the 4x4 by two %2 inch lag bolt • The 4x4 will be cemented 2 feet into the ground o Given that there is only a 10 inch gap between the ground and the door to the house a trench will need to be dug to allow the 4x4 posts and bottom of the beam to sit slightly below grade • The trench will be 10 inches deep and 10 inches wide which will allow the posts and the beam to sit in the trench without coming in contact with the ground • Landscape fabric and gravel will be placed in the bottom of the trench to assist with drainage o For the concrete piers, At the bottom of the trench post holes will be dug and additional two(2)feet • Each post holes will be filled with a 10" diameter form filled with concrete • A 4x4 will sit 2 feet in the holes surrounded by concrete • 2 x 6 joists will sit on top of the 2x8 beams attached with joist hangers and spaced every 12 inches on center o For Permeability purposes please note-Joists will sit at least 4 inches above the soil with the given specs of Trench, Beam, posts etc. • Each joist will be attached to the beam with Hurricane Ties • Trex Composite flooring will be secured to the frame—spaced at least 1/8 inches apart • For Permeable purposes please note- this Deck will not contain a roof 470 Garden Lane—Fence Notes and Specs I am submitting a permit for a 6 foot fence to be constructed at the North and East Boundary of my property(highlighted on the attached survey) Fence Materials • 8 foot 4x4-dimensional lumber Treated for Ground Contact • 12 foot 1 x 8 pressure treated boards • 10 inch diameter concrete forms • Concrete Design and location A 6 foot high fence will run the entire length of the North Boundary of the property, running East to West"'56 feet and on the East Boundary of the property running North to South — 24 feet.
