4111 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA,
AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES BY ADDING A NEW SECTION
REQUIRING A CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY FOR RENTAL OF
PROPERTY TO A NEW TENANT, REQUIRING THAT SUCH CERTIFICATE
SHALL NOT BE ISSUED UNLESS THE RENTAL PROPERTY IS IN
COMPLIANCE WITH ALL CITY CODES AND ANY LIENS DUE THE CITY
ARE PAID, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic
Beach, Florida:
SECTION 1, The Code of Ordinances of the City of Atlantic
Beach, Florida, is hereby amended by adding a new section to be
numbered Sec. 24-87, which section shall read as follows:
"Sec. 24-87 Certificate of occupancy for tenants of rental
property.
A certificate of occupancy must be obtained for the
rental of either residential or commercial property by a
new tenant. Such certificate shall not be issued unless
the rental property is in compliance with all city codes
and any liens due the city on said property are paid in
full. "
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon
its anal passage and adoption.
