AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA,
AMENDING CHAPTER 6, BUILDINGS AND BUILDING REGULATIONS,
ARTICLE II, BUILDING CODE, ARTICLE III, ELECTRICAL CODE,
AND ARTICLE IV, PLUMBING CODE, REGARDING TERMITE PROTEC-
TION) DESIGN CRITERIA FOR STORM SHUTTERS, AND INCLUDING
ATLANTIC BEACH BUILDING DEPARTMENT AS AN ACCEPTED TESTING
AGENCY, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic
Beach, Florida:
SECTION 1. The Code of Ordinances of the City of Atlantic
Beach, Florida, is hereby amended by adding a new amendment to Sec.
6-17 , said new amendment to read as follows:
"Sec. 1703 . 1 is hereby added as follows:
Pest control companies shall list all products and
product amounts used in pre-treatment for termite protec-
tion and shall post said information on the building
permit card at the construction site at the time of
treatment. "
SECTION 2 . The Code of Ordinances of the City of Atlantic
Beach, Florida, is hereby amended by adding a new subsection to be
numbered Sec. 6-23 (h)S5) , which subsection shall read as follows:
" (5) All storm shutters shall be designed to conform
with Part VI , Chapter 23 , of the South Florida Building
Code, 1994 Edition. Copies of said Chapter 23 shall be
kept in the office of the building official and the
office of the city clerk. "
SECTION 3 . The last sentences of Secs. 6-35 (c) and 6-60 of the
Code of Ordinances of the City of Atlantic Beach, Florida, are
hereby amended to read as follows:
6-35 (c) "Accepted testing agencies are the City of
Atlantic Beach, City of Jacksonville Building and Zoning
Department, City of Jacksonville Beach Building and
Zoning Department, and Standard Building Code Congress
International . "
6-60 : "Accepted testing agencies are the City of
Atlantic Beach, City of Jacksonville Building and Zoning
Department, City of Jacksonville Beach Building and
Zoning Department, and Standard Building Code Congress
International . "

SECTION 4 . This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon
41111 its final passage and adoption.
PASSED by the City Commission on first reading this 26th day
of June, 1995 .
PASSED by the City Commission on second and final reading this
10th day of July, 1995 .
