AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 50-61-1
410 A PERSONNEL POLICY ORDINANCE FOR THE CITY OF
ATLANTIC BEACH, DUVAL COUNTY, FLORIDA
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PROPLE OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH,
FLORIDA.
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 50-61-1 be amended to adjust , �
the personnel pay schedules in line with the following
personnel salary schedules :

Employee shall be eligible for $10.00 per month increase after
each year's subsequent service upon recommendation by the City
Manager and with the concurrence of the City Commission.
The base salary of the Sewer & water plant operator shall be
increased by $12 .50 per month in event such Operator possesses
Oa or achieves the minimum license status in either category(Water
or Sewer) and shall be increased $12.50 per month for each in-
crease in License Classification for either category.

SECTION 1-A ACROSS BOARD SALARY ADJUSTMENT
The City Commission at the time the Annual Budget Ordinance is
adopted, or from time to time as deemed proper, necessary and/or
desirable, may include in the applicable Budget Ordinance, or
Amendments to, equal and across the board salary increase or de-
creases for those positions as classified under Section I
Ordinance 50-61-1.
SECTION 1-B OVERTIME COMPENSATION
Those positions as classified under Section I Ordinance 50-61-1
shall be further classified with respect to eligibility for
compensation for overtime, as follows:
EXEMPT: Shall be exempt from receiving compensation for overtime
incurred in conjunction with the responsibilities of their job.
NON-EXEMPT: Shall receive compensation for all time worked in
excess of 40 hours per week. Such overtime compensation shall
be calculated on an hourly basis by reducing annual salary to
weekly salary and further reducing weekly salary to hourly
rate based on 40 hours per week.
Those classifications which are further classified as exempt are:
POLICE
Sergeant
Patrolman
FIRE
Captain
Lieutenant
Fireman
ADMINISTRATION
Assistant Clerk
Clerk Typist
PUBLIC WORKS
Superintendent
Sewer & Water Plant Operator
Labor-Sanitation (Normal Duties)
All other Classifications under Section I, Ordinance 50-61-1 are
further classified as Non-Exempt.
SECTION 2. That Section 2 of 50-61-1 be amended to read:
The positions of City Manager, City Clerk-Treasurer, Police and
Fire Chief, City Attorney, City Judge, Temporary Employees
authorized by the City Commission, and such Professional, Tech-
nical or Specialized Consultative positions as from time to

may be appointed by City Commission, shall not be subject to
the provisions of this Ordinance.
SECTION 3: All Ordinances , or parts of Ordinances, in conflict
herewith are herewith and hereby repealed.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall become effective immediately
upon it' s passage on final reading.
