These standards are set forth in the International Property Maintenance Code and the Florida Building Code and were adopted as part of the City of Atlantic Beach Code of Ordinances in Chapter 6, Article II, Section 6-16. A code enforcement inspection at 940 MAIN ST was conducted on . The City of Atlantic Beach Code Enforcement has found your property to be in violation of the City of Atlantic Beach Code of Ordinances: 1. NATURE OF VIOLATION: Storage of broken items in the driveway in front of the garage. These include and old broken red metal box, a window ac unit and other miscellaneous items. ACTION TO CORRECT: Clear out the items being stored in the driveway within 10 days of receipt of this letter. APPLICABLE CODE: Sec. 24-173.Neighborhood preservation and property maintenance standards. (b)Appropriate maintenance and upkeep. All areas of a lot and structures that are visible from the street or a neighboring property shall be maintained in an acceptable manner, which shall be defined by the following characteristics: 1. Lots are maintained free from litter,trash,debris, discarded belongings, automotive parts, old tires, construction materials, and broken and abandoned items. 2. NATURE OF VIOLATION: Storage of inoperable and or unregistered vehicles on the property. These includes the corvette and minivan with flat tires in the driveway as well as the multiple vehicles stored on the lot adjacent to the garage. As stated in the code section below,the storage and salvage operation of automobiles and other vehicles is limited to the land zoned as the special use district. The property located on Main Street does not fall in this district and automobiles may not be stored at this property. ACTION TO CORRECT: Remove all inoperable and unregistered vehicles from the property within 10 days of receipt of this letter. APPLICABLE CODES: IPMC Sec. 302.8 Motor Vehicles "No inoperative or unlicensed motor vehicle shall be parked or kept or stored on any premises, and no vehicle shall at any time be in a state of disrepair,major disassembly or in the process or being stripped or dismantled". Chapter 24. Land Development Regulations. Sec. 24-114. - Special purpose district(SP). (c)[Existing salvage yard.] The existing salvage yard, which is restricted to storage and salvage operations of automobiles,trucks, motorcycles,mobile homes, other vehicles, boats, septic tanks and metal scrap is recognized as a lawfully permitted nonconforming use within the SP district. The site area for this existing salvage yard shall not exceed that covered by the blocks or portions thereof limited in location to the following lots of record identified as Section H,to wit: all of Blocks 111, 112, 113, 117, 118, 119, 140, 141,and 142,Plat Book 18, Page 34.
