AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF
ATLANTIC BEACH CHAPTER 17 ENTITLED "PLUMBING"
BEING "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE REGULATION
AND GOVERNING OF PLUMBING CONSTRUCTION, AND THE
CERTIFICATION OF MASTER AND JOURNEYMAN PLUMBERS . "
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 17-1 . Adoption of Southern Standard Plumbing Code.
There is hereby adopted the Southern Standard Plumbing
Code 1973 edition, for the purpose of establishing rules
and regulations for the construction, maintenance and
repairs on plumbing, including permits and penalities .
Section 17-4. Master and Journeyman Plumbers required to
have Certificate of Competency.
Every Master or Journeyman Plumber before carrying on
his trade or business in this City, shall present to
the City Clerk a certificate as to his competency issued
by the Board of Examiners of Plumbers by the City of
Jacksonville, or an existing certificate previously
issued by the City of Atlantic Beach.
It shall be unlawful by any person, not a certified
Plumber in accordance with the provision of this section,
to do any Plumbing construction or to make any repairs,
alterations, additions or changes to an existing system,
within the City of Atlantic Beach.
Section 17-5, Section 17-6, Section 17-7, Section 17-8 and
Section 17-9 is hereby repealed and removed from the Code.
All ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed.
This Ordinance shall become effective upon its third and final
reading with a public hearing by the City Commission of the City
of Atlantic Beach.
