Dear Property Owner:
Please be advised, the City of Atlantic Beach Code of Ordinances includes rules and regulations governing
construction activities and also maintenance standards for property within the City. These standards are set forth
in the International Property Maintenance Code and the Florida Building Code and were adopted as part of the
City of Atlantic Beach Code of Ordinances in Chapter 6, Article II, Section 6-16.
A code enforcement inspection at 718 CAVALLA RD was conducted on 9/12/2022. The City of Atlantic Beach
Code Enforcement has found your property to be in violation of the City of Atlantic Beach Code of Ordinances:
NATURE OF VIOLATION: 1. A pile of loose cardboard shipping boxes addressed to Holly Anderson at 718
Cavalla Road were piled up on the side of the road on Monday, 9/12/2022. Garbage collection for this street is on
Thursdays. In accordance with code trash may not be placed curbside for pick up prior to 6 pm the night before
the scheduled pick up.
2. Grass is in need of mowing.
APPLICABLE CODES
Sec. 16-3. Garbage and trash containers. (b) Set out and storage. No person shall place a container or yard waste
in front of a residential unit in which he does not reside. Nor shall containers of yard waste be placed in a city
park or right of way adjoining a part or in a road median. Garbage containers set out for garbage collection shall
be placed at the curb of the street from which garbage service is rendered except as otherwise provided herein.
Garbage containers shall be set out no earlier than 6:00 pm the day prior to collection and shall be returned to
their regular place of storage no later than 12:00 midnight on the day of collection.
IPMC Sec. 302.4 Weeds. All premises and exterior property shall be maintained free from weeds or plant growth
in excess of twelve(12) inches. All noxious weeds shall be prohibited. Weeds shall be defined as all grasses,
annual plants and vegetation, other than trees or shrubs provided; however,this term shall not include cultivated
flowers and gardens.
This letter requests that the noted violation(s) be corrected by mowing the lawn within 5 days and
removing the trash from the right of way and refraining from placing any trash at the roadside prior to 6
pm the night before pick up.
Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. Failure to correct the violation by the required date may result in
this case being referred to the Code Enforcement Special Magistrate resulting in fines up to two hundred fifty
dollars ($250.00) per day. Upon completion of the action required, it is your responsibility to contact me and
