A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA,
AWARDING BID NO. 2122-18 FOR THE INTERIOR PAINTING OF CITY HALL;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE CONTRACTS AND
PURCHASE ORDERS IN ACCORDANCE WITH AND AS NECESSARY TO
EFFECTUATE THE PROVISIONS OF THIS RESOLUTION; AND PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, on August 31, 2022 two bids were received and opened for City Bid
No. 2122-18: Interior Painting of City Hall; and
WHEREAS, prices ranged from $42,000.00 to $84,777.67, with the low bid price of $42,000.00
submitted by Five 12 Painting & Remodeling; and
WHEREAS, Five 12 Painting & Remodeling submitted the low bid; however, staff feels that the
second bidder was more responsible, and recommends awarding the bid to Krystal Klean; and
WHEREAS, the project consists of furnishing all labor, materials and safety equipment necessary
to properly prepare all surfaces, and apply up to two (2) coats of paint throughout the building. This
includes, but may not be limited to thoroughly cleaning all ledges, baseboards, walls, doors, and
casings, surface preparation, surface repair, caulking, sealants, patching, sanding, miscellaneous
incidentals, and the application of the paint and primer coatings to the interior of the City Hall building.
This includes all of the surfaces within the cathedral area, and cleaning the lighting that hangs from
the ceiling. Move and reposition all furniture, and replace vinyl baseboard where needed; and
WHEREAS, funds are available for this project in the Building Maintenance account 001-1012-
519-6200; and
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Atlantic Beach as
follows:
SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby awards Bid 2122-18 to Krystal Klean in the amount
of $84,777.67 to perform the work for said bid in accordance with the bid specifications;
SECTION 2. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute the Contract
with Krystal Klean and approve a Purchase Order to said vendor in the amount of $84,777.67;
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.
