AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ORDINANCE CODE OF
THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA; AMENDING
CHAPTER 7, ARTICLE II, SECTION 7-16 TO ADOPT
BY REFERENCE THE STANDARD FIRE PREVENTION CODE
1985 EDITION WITH REVISIONS PUBLISHED BY THE
SOUTHERN BUILDING CODE CONGRESS INTERNATIONAL
AND THE NATIONAL FIRE PROTECTION ASSOCIATION 101
LIFE SAFETY CODE 1988 EDITION PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE;
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC
BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1, Chapter 7, Article II, Section 7-16 is hereby amended to
read as follows:
Chapter 7
FIRE PREVENTION AND PROTECTION
Article II FIRE PREVENTION CODE
Section 7-16 adoption.
It is hereby adopted, for the purpose of prescribing regulations
governing conditions hazardous to life and property from fire or
explosion, that certain code known as the Standard Fire Prevention Code,
982-ed4t4en-w4th-1983-rev154ens 1985 edition with supplemental
revisions, published by the Southern Building Code Congress
International, Inc. of which code, net-less-than-three43}-eetAes-stave
laeen-end-neva-ate-€sled-gin-the-a€€iee-a€-the-G4ty-6lerk, one (1) copy is
filed in the office of the City Clerk, one (1) copy with the Atlantic
Beach Fire Department and one (1) copy is filed with the Atlantic Beach
Building Department, and the same is hereby adopted and incorporated as
fully if it is set out at length in this article, and the provisions
thereof shall be controlling within the City.
There is also hereby adopted, that certain code known as the National
Fire Protection Association 101 Life Safety Code 1988 edition, of which
code one copy is filed in the office of the City Clerk, one copy with the
Atlantic Beach Fire Department and one copy with the Atlantic Beach
Building Department, and the same is hereby adopted and incorporated as
fully as if set out at length in this article, and the provisions thereof
shall be controlling within the City.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its adoption.
