MEMORANDUM
To: Richard C. Fellows, City Manager
From: Rene' Angers, Community Devel r` e t 'oordinator
Subject : Proposed Ordinance No. 60-x440
Amending the Sign Code
I have been in contact with the leasing company for the
Atlantic Village Shopping Center regarding real estate
advertising signs. Our current sign ordinance permits only
one real estate advertising sign not to exceed four square
feet in area in all zoning districts.
The management company has a good point in that a 2' x 2'
sign may be sufficient for advertising a home but may not be
practical for advertising a large shopping center such as
Atlantic Village. Across Atlantic Boulevard, in the City of
Neptune Beach, real estate signs in commercial districts are
permitted up to 32 square feet in area whereas residential
real estate signs are restricted to four square feet.
Ordinance No. 60-89-6, addressing this matter, is attached
for your review.
