AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF
ATLANTIC BEACH RENAMING THAT
PORTION OF WEST 12TH STREET
BETWEEN ORCHID STREET AND MAYPORT
ROAD TO WEST PLAZA ; REMOVING THE
NAME WEST PLAZA FROM THE DRAINAGE
EASEMENT BETWEEN 11TH AND 12TH
STREETS ; AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE .
WHEREAS , The existing street known as West 12th Street
would be more appropriately known as West Plaza in that it lies
on the western side of Mayport Road opposite the intersection of
Plaza and Mayport Road , and
WHEREAS , The previously existing drainage easement lying
between 11th and 12th Streets and known as West Plaza has been
vacated , and
WHEREAS , it is the desire of the City Commission of The
City of Atlantic Beach to rename West 12th Street to West Plaza,
NOW THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Commission of the
City of Atlantic Beach Florida:
SECTION 1 .
That portion of West 12th Street lying between Orchid
Street and Mayport Road is hereby renamed West Plaza. The name
West 12th Street shall be held available for future use where
appropriate .
Be it further ordained that that portion of the previously
existing drainage easement lying between 11th and 12th Streets
and between Orchid Street and Mayport Road , and known as West
Plaza was vacated and shall be unnamed on official City maps.
SECTION 2 . Severability .
If any section , sentence, clause , word , or phrase of this
Ordinance is held to be invalid or unconstitutional by a court
of competent jurisdiction , then said holding shall in no way
affect the validity of the remaining portions of this Ordinance .
SECTION 3 .
This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon
final passage .
