Re: Former Power Station at 880 Mayport Road Atlantic Beach, Florida This is to confirm that this company removed all (9) Petroleum underground storage tanks which were located at the subject location. These tanks were removed and disposed of on May 12 , 1987 in accordance to all the current Federal , State and Local requirements . Since ly, nn Croswell Vice President c/c William H. Dukes 1150 Penman Road Jacksonville Beach, Florida 32250 INTERNAL CORRESPONDENCE 1011 TO Dave Swearingen DATE August 20, 1987 Retail Marketing FROM David Hageman SUBJECT Tank Removal @ 3075 (UNIT) Due to the permanent closing of Station #3075, 880 Mayport Rd. Atlantic Bch. , Florida, we have removed all nine petroleum tanks from the ground as per EPA requirements. The tanks were removed on May 12, 1987 by Advanced Petroleum Equipment Co. , 765 Kirkman Rd. Orlando, FL 32811 , 305-298-5687. Should you have any questions concerning this tank removal, our contact person is Ned Reily. Advanced Petroleum is the largest Tokheim Distributor in Florida which is why I chose them to do the work. Since we lease the property at this location we were forced to replace all the concrete that was removed for this purpose which is why the cost of the job exceeded five-thousand dollars. Other than the concrete replacement this job was "normal" with no problems. All soil test were found to be "negative". Vicki Thompsaon, from our Oklahoma City office, notified EPA in writing on May 15, 1987. In advance of the removal of these tanks I contacted Sue Larsen with EPA in Orlando who told me we had the option of either Sand Filling the tanks to specs. or Removing them, since we won't retain this property I thought it best to remove them. If you have any questions concerning this removal please do not hesitate to call. cc: Bill Dukes 1150 Penman Rd. Jacksonville Bch. , FL 32250
