AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE #67-58-1
OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH. PRESCRIBING
CERTAIN REGULATIONS FOR THE DESIGN AND DE-
VELOPMENT OF NEW SUBDIVISIONS
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC
BEACH, DUVAL COUNTY, FLORIDA.
SECTION 1. That Section 4. 2 or Ordinance 67-58-1 be
and is hereby amended by the addition of paragraph
C, to wit:
C. Open drainage ditches shall be provided
with easements or rights-of-way of suffi-
cient width and be constructed in such
manner as to facilitate economical future
public maintenance. The bottom width and
grade shall be designed to adequately drain
the area affected. Slope angles of side
banks shall be designed to minimize and
prevent excessive erosion. In cases where
fixed bottom grades and side bank slope
angles must be maintained against antici-
pated conditions of unusually heavy erosion
and resulting excessive public maintainance
cost, the ditch bottom or side bank slopes,
or both, shall be paved with concrete if
economically justified in accordance with
the circumstances pertaining to each such
case.
SECTION 2. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3 . This Ordinance shall be and become effective
immediately upon its final passage.
