AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE PARKING AND LOCATION OF
AUTOMOBILE TRAILERS AND REGULATING THE LICENSING,
LOCATION, ERECTION, MAINTENANCE AND CONDUCT OF AUTO-
MOBILE TRAILER PARKS AND TOURIST CAMPS AND PROVIDING
A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDAs
SECTION I. Definitions. As used in this Ordinance.
(a) An "Automobile Trailer" , "Trailer Coach" or "Trailer"
means any vehicle or structure so designated and constructed in
such manner as will permit occupancy thereof as sleeping quarters
for one or more persons, or the conduct of any business or pro-
fession, occupation or trade (or use as a selling or advertising
device) , and so designated that it is, or may be, mounted on
wheels and used as a conveyance on highways or city streets, pro-
pelled or drawn by its own or other motive power, excepting a
device used exclusively upon stationary rails or tracks.
(b) A "Trailer Park" means any park, trailer park, trailer
court, site, lot, parcel or tract of land designated, maintained
or intended for the purpose of supplying a location upon which
any trailer coach, automobile trailer or trailer may be parked,
and shall include all buildings used or intended to be used as
part of the equipment thereof, whether a charge is made for the
use of the trailer park and its facilities or not.
(c) A "Trailer Camp" means any park, tourist park, tourist
court, camp, court, site, lot, parcel or tract of land upon which
one or more trailers are located and parked by the day, week, or
month, by transients, whether a charge is made or not.
SECTION II. Minimum Requirements.
All trailer parks and tourist camps shall meet the following
minimum requirements:
1. Streets to be not less than thirty (30) feet wide and
blacktopped, and the entire Park designed for drainage
of surface water.
2 . Street and park or camp area to be illuminated pro-
perly all night.
3 . Each trailer shall be placed with a setback from each
of its plot lines a minimum of 8 ' in all directions
with a 4" thick 16 square foot concrete slab on
entrance side of trailer.
4. All electric wiring to trailers to be underground and
comply with electrical code in force by the City of
Atlantic Beach.
5. All plumbing to comply with the plumbing code in force
by the City of Atlantic Beach.

6. City water to be piped to each trailer with no less
than three-fourths (3/4) inch pipe.
7. Each trailer space shall be numbered with directory at
the office of said park or camp. No occupational license
to operate a trailer park or tourist camp shall be issued
until a plat of the proposed park is supplied to the City
Clerk and the completion of all improvements and com-
pliance with all requirements and regulations as herein-
before set forth.
SECTION III. Application for License. Prerequisites.
Application for a license to operate a trailer park or tourist camp
shall be granted at the discretion of the City Commission.
SECTION IV. License fees.
The annual occupational license tax for a trailer park or tourist
camp shall be as follows:
1 to 10 trailer spaces $25.00
10 to 20 trailer spaces $35.00
20 or more trailer spaces $50.00
said license year to begin July 1st and end June 30th of the follow-
ing year.
SECTION V. Penalty for Violations.
Any person operating a trailer park or tourist camp without a license
or who is found guilty of violating any of the provisions of this
Ordinance shall be subject to a fine of $500.00 and/or imprisonment
for the term of 30 days. Each day of violation hereof to be con-
sidered a separate offense.
SECTION VI. Should any section, subsection, sentence, provision,
clause or phrase of this Ordinance be held to be invalid for any
reason, such holding shall not render invalid any other section, sub-
section, sentence, provision, clause or phrase of this Ordinance, and
the same are deemed severable for this purpose.
SECTION VII. All Ordinances in conflict herewith shall be repealed.
SECTION VIII. This Ordinanceā¢ sh .11 take effect immediately upon its
passage.
Passed by the City Commission on first reading on the 11th day of
November, 1968.
