The live entertainment portion of your business model requires a use-by-exception. As I mentioned, this shouldn’t be a big deal since you won’t be generating any outside noise. In addition to the application I would submit a letter/email outlining your proposed development (really making it known that no live entertainment will be taking place outside). I would also touch on the fact that you are similar (the restaurant portion) to the previous tenant and that you are adding the entertainment portion. The use-by-exception application can be found at: https://fl-atlanticbeach3.civicplus.com/DocumentCenter/View/9766/Use-by -Exception-Application?bidId= Turn by Monday and we can get you on the Feb 16th Community Development Board (CDB) meeting. My business partner and I are leasing the North Beach Bistro. We have developed a restaurant and live music concept called Firefly Bay with a tag line of scratch kitchen*live music. Shane stated that you have meetings on Mondays at 1:15. I was hoping to get on the docket for that meeting. Some quick background and information about the project. My name is Don Morris. I have 30 years of experience in the restaurant and live music industry. I spent 11 years with Hard Rock Cafe as a General Manager in Myrtle Beach and Nashville Tennessee. I most recently was the General Manager of the House of Blues in San Diego for the last 2.5 years until Covid shut us down. My business partner is John Lombardi. John is a practicing attorney out of New York City. John and I have actually been friends since we were 4 years old. We did a major search for this project and after looking at many locations have chosen Atlantic Beach. We love this area and are excited to bring another great restaurant to your city. We have moved here for this opportunity. The concept will be called Firefly Bay. It will be a restaurant that produces food from scratch. All of our dressings, sauces, marinades will be made in-house. All our items will be made to order. We will also have a full bar and have live music on weekly basis. We will focus on classic rock, pop and country music. Live music will not have a cover charge unless we have a touring act coming through that makes sense. I feel this will be few and far between. The menu is American fare steak, chicken, seafood, salad, pastas etc. We intend to be very involved with the community and to give back as well. Can you please give me a call or reply when you get a chance? I appreciate any assistance you can be to help get us where we need to be.
