AN ORDINANCE, AMENDING, ADDING TO AND REPEALING PARTS THERETO OF CHAPTER 19,
CODE OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA, ENTITLED "SEWERS AND SEWAGE
DISPOSAL"; ESTABLISHING RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL SEWER AND SEWER DISPOSAL
CONNECTION CHARGES; PROVIDING FOR THE INVESTMENT OF FUNDS; REPEALING
ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION I . For the purpose of this Ordinance density is rated "high"
on living units that contain less than 6,000 square feet of land area
per living unit. The low density rate applies to 6,000 or more square
feet of land area per living unit.
The sewer service connection charge for the following listed
living units and commercial units is hereby established:
RESIDENCES CONNECTION CHARGE
PER LIVING UNIT LOW DENSITY HIGH DENSITY
Single-Family $700.00 $900.00
Apartments 700.00 900.00
Trailers and Mobile Homes 700.00 900.00
COMMERCIAL CONNECTION CHARGE
Office Buildings $ 25.00 per 100 sq. ft.
Grocery Stores 30.00 per 100 sq. ft.
Retail Shops 250.00 per rest room
Theatres (based on seating capacity) 3.00 per seat
Restaurants (based on seating capacity) 12.00 per seat
Service Stations 350.00 per rest room
Beauty Parlors, Barbershops 40.00 per chair
Coin-operated Laundromats 50.00 per single load machine
Hotels, Motels, etc. 350.00 per rest room
SECTION 2. The city treasurer is hereby directed to receive such connection
charge and cause same to be invested in interest-bearing securities that
are most advantageous to the city's interest. Such securities shall be
entitled "City of Atlantic Beach, Sewer Plant Fund." The sole purpose
of such "Sewer Plant Fund" shall be used for capital improvements to the
sewer plant.
SECTION 3. Ordinances, parts of Ordinances and Resolutions in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its
passage on final reading.
