1757 Park Terrace West Arborist Letter 3Page 1 2663 Robert St, Jacksonville, FL 32207 jcox@yellowstonelandscape.com Phone: 423-605-6858 11/10/2022 To Whom It May Concern: A site visit was made to inspect a live oak Quercus Virginiana with concerns of it being a risk to persons and property. The tree is located at 1757 Park Terrace West, Atlantic Beach, 32233. Previous efforts have been made to retain this tree, including cabling and end weight reduction pruning. Upon visual inspection, a significant split was observed at one of the crotches between two main leads. This split is a major concern as the limb splitting off has the potential to come down at any moment. Additionally, this is not the first major lead that will have been removed from this tree due to decay. Finally, other notable cavities and decaying wood were present at the time of this inspection. Due to the proximity of the tree to the house, the history of the tree, and it’s current condition, I categorize this tree as high risk, and recommend removing the tree for the safety of the residence and their home as soon as possible. This inspection was a ground based visual inspection. The inspection was limited to defects of the roots, trunk, and branches that could be seen while standing on the ground. There may be defects below ground or in canopy that were not visible from this perspective. These defects may result in the failure of branches, trunks, or roots. No other trees on this property were inspected other than those specifically addressed in the associated proposal. A Level 2 Tree Health Assessment, with a 2-year time frame, was performed based on the ANSI A 300 (Part 9, 2017) Tree Risk Assessment standard and used the methodology defined in the Society of Arboriculture’s Best Management Practice for Tree Risk Assessment (2017).
