On October 21, 2022, at your request, I performed an inspection of a Live Oak located at the above address. The tree is approximately 50 feet in height and 50 feet in spread. The trunk size measures approximately 42" at DBH. The tree is located in front yard, immediately adjacent to front porch. A level 2 inspection was made at ground level using optical magnification, with no climbing involved. A visual inspection revealed no active pest, in the root zone, trunk or canopy. The crown appears mostly full with a small amount of die back and dead branching present. While the tree trunk and canopy have an approximate 30 degree lean to the east, it appears that the tree has developed this lean over a period of time. No ground heave or voids are present in the surrounding soil. Of concern, is decay in both the lower and upper trunks. In the main trunk near the base of the tree are large areas of old decay on both the tension and compression sides are present. This poses an increased risk of failure in the near term. Decay in various locations of the upper trunk and canopy is also present, impacting branch unions making them more susceptible to failure. If some or all of this tree should fail, potential targets include the home, neighboring homes, vehicles and pedestrians. In summary, in order to eliminate the risk within the target range of this tree would be to completely remove the tree as soon as practical. Respectfully submitted ?Jaes:#FL 8 TRAQ -402- 268
